Coron Kayak & Calauit Safari Overnight Adventure

 

Accommodation is in Tribal Adventures’ signature Hill or open Tree House-style pavilions on its 10-hectare beachfront, solar-powered tropical oasis called Camp Calauit, located at Cheey, Busuanga. The closest beach to the airport, being only 20 kms away, it is Busuanga’s most picturesque AND in the centre of “dugong country”. Shared, modern shower and toilet facilities with individual lockers. Hotel linen, towels, comfy mattresses, pillows and toiletries are supplied.

Coron Kayak & Calauit Safari Overnight AdventureSea kayaking Included are snorkels and masks and provision of a single or double sit-in, foot rudder-controlled sea kayak, ideal to go out and visit nearby islands and our magical sandbars.

 

 

4x4 safari to Calauit Wildlife Reserve  Departing the following morning, around Coron Kayak & Calauit Safari Overnight Adventuresunrise, in a 4x4 you will be driven 70 minutes to Macalachao, where you will board a native banca for a 10 minute trip across to Calauit Island. There you will undertake the safari, either by foot or by truck, to view African and local animals in a wildlife park that is reputedly the largest in Southeast Asia.

The giraffe literally feed out of your hands and the Calamian Deer, an endangered species, positively thrive in the park. After the 3-hour safari you will visit Sinibayan Falls for a barbecue lunch and swim in the rainforest before returning to Camp Calauit and Palawan SandCastles mid-afternoon.

Itinerary

DAY 1

1:00pm meet at Coffee Kong Cafe, Main Road Coron for coffee,

2:30   Arrive at Camp Calauit, to settle in to your accommodations and merienda

3:00   Depart for afternoon sea paddle to village of Cheey and up Minuit river a low land costal river system.

5:30   Arrive back at Camp Cheey, hike and climb atop tribal hill for the sun set view with beverages and raft ride home.

6:30pm Dinner and camp fire to swap your experiences over beers and rum.

 

Day 2

5:30 am       Early breakfast as early birds catch the Giraffe

6:30   Depart by 4x4 for Calauit Wildlife Safari Park, home to giraffe, zebra, elan and the endangered Calamian deer

8:00   Walk into the park, getting up close and personal with giraffes which will eat out of your hand!

10:30 4x4 trip to Sinibayan to trek through rain forest into jungles for a remote BBQ experience and swim in fresh water lagoons. 

14:30PM Arrive at Camp Calauit to pick up your gear and return trip

17.00PM Approx: Arrive Coron Town / Busuanga Airport

Cancellation Policy

No refund for no-show or cancellation/s inside of 24 hours from start of tour.

50% cancellation fee applies for cancellation/s within seven (7) days prior to start of tour.

Cancellations will be refunded at 50% of cost, with discounts of 50% available for travelers who cancel but re-book at a later date

Children policy

Children can be accommodated: Under 12 at half price and free of charge for under 2.

However, with children participating we take the liberty of varying the itinerary to avoid the long walk into Sinibayan Waterfalls and putting on alternative activities for youngsters instead of sea kayaking.

When booking, please advise us of the ages of any children, so we can apply the correct rates and provide you with an adapted itinerary.

Participant Guidelines

Travellers are to bring with them:-

  • Sunscreen, hat,
  • bug repellent,
  • water thermos (beverages are included but we dislike disposable water bottles)
  • walking shoes that will get wet or strong sandals,
  • swim wear,
  • waterproof layer,
  • A change of clothes
  • tip money if you choose. (You can purchase water/trekking foot wear, water bottles and day packs from our office in Palawan)
